looks like you either hook the xbox to a hub/router with a standard network cable or if you don't have a hub/router then into the network card on your pc with a cross-over/patch cable.

Yeah it does, then I shall assume that the product I'm looking at is the one I should buy.

lad I used to work with had the x-box live stuff hooked up through his computer, never asked him how it was set up.. I've just realised now that we don't have a dial-up internet account anymore, that means I can't use the dreamcast online :-(

The playstation Dan just used normal ethernet cables and connected it to the internet, you don't need crossover. But he just told me it took him awhile because he had to fuck with network settings and whatnot...so I don't know how much computer stuff you know to make that worth your while. For Xbox he just connected it to the internet with an ethernet cable, nothing special. He just knows how to network and all that crap...I hope the other person commenting is more of a help. Dan is doing something at work so I can't get him to explain more fully...:P

Ah okay, I have spare ethernet cables for the Xbox. I bought something that comes with software so that should work.
I don't have a tv in my room so I'm going to have to lug the laptop in the den, oh how fun ;p
