Check this out!
Have any of you seen the movie 'Prince of Egypt'? Well this is the opening song 'Deliver Us'..love that song! This is the Hebrew version and it makes an already powerful song even more beautiful. Wow. Ofra Haza's voice is amazing, I have an album by her. If you haven't seen this movie I really recommend it, it's really beautiful.
This is one of those songs that moves me..so is 'Through Heaven's Eyes'.

Oh, I love that movie! It's all emotional - every single part of it. As for the song - I've heard both versions, and it definitely sounds better in Hebrew - more emotional, somehow, you know? And I agree with you - Ofra Haza was amazing, she really was.

Hearing this really makes me want to get the Hebrew soundtrack! I think it makes me more emotional because it's a Hebrew bible story? I adore this movie, every bit of it like you said. The scene with the Red Sea and the silhouettes of the fish and the whales? Omg, that scene is just gorgeous!

Oh, you definitely should. This is the first time I ran into translated material that was better than the original. Except for the last song, where they all leave, which was VERY poorly translated.

I was much more moved by the personal aspect of the story than the fact it's biblical, you know? This movie shows how much more difficult the situation must have been for everyone involved, it makes it feel real. Plus, the singing scene where they all leave, never fails to get me grinning:)

Yeah, I don't care much that it's biblical since I'm not religious. I actually didn't really want to see the movie because of that but I figured 'why not?'
'When You Believe' gets me grinning too :D :D :D
Check out my current post, the video I posted will get you laughing!
