Okay, supposedly you aren't supposed to be able to get things off an iPod and onto iTunes but I've heard of people who have gotten things off their iPod..
I recently got a new iPod (keeping the old one!) and I want to put the HP audio books that came with it onto my computer, how the heck do I do that? Some people have accomplished this so I know it can be done! bellelvsbeast, maybe you can shed light? I must know!

I'm sure that there is a better way than what I am about to tell you. (My friend downloaded a program to do it, but I have no idea what it was or where she got it)

Let's say I wanted to find all of my Harry and the Potters songs. What I do is go to the Start menu, then select "search" then "for files or folders". When that came up I would type Harry in one of the search boxes, then select my ipod from the dropdown list under the "Look in:" heading. I would then click on the "advanced options" and select "search hidden files and folders". After the computer finishes searching, there should be a list of files that should be what I was looking for. Granted, it might come up with some files from a Harry Potter soundtrack or something, but anyway... When the files come up, they all have stupid names that do not tell me what they are, like "KSAH" or some ridiculus crap like that. You could create a new folder then copy + paste all the results into it, then open that folder and right click each file and select "open with" then "itunes".

I'm pretty sure that's how I did it... but like I said, I'm sure there are better ways...

Okay so I saw the drive with the iPod but I couldn't find anything on it by search even though I see it on the iPod. Can you ask your friend what the download was and where to get it?

I think she deleted it, but she still might know what it was... I'll ask her.

Did you select the "advanced option" of "searching hidden files and folders"?

Dude I don't have an Ipod...Dan would kill me if I ever bought any Apple products...:P But I use an MP3 player (IRiver) and it rocks my socks...but I don't use Itunes or anything. I just download music where ever and put it on the player...so I don't know I suck...:P
