There was a really good 2-part space drama/documentary on TV this week over here, they mixed fact with drama to produce a programme following an expedition to some of our planets. The CGI was great, it really felt like you were travelling with the crew, it was also a little depressing at times since it faced up to the realities of how dangerous it would be and they lost crew members. Still wonderful stuff.

Grr. Stem-cell issues get me so annoyed - there shouldn't BE any issues! They can't stand the thought that a tissue remain MIGHT be put to good use? So. Damn. Stupid. It won't encourage it, that's like saying organ donation encourages risky motorcycle driving. If some woman who has an abortion takes some small comfort in the fact it'll be used to possibly improved someone's life I'm overjoyed, but I sincerely doubt she'd be sitting there, thinking "hmm... abortion. or adoption. Gee whiz, I don't know. Hey, wait, the embryonic cells might be used for research? Oooh, sign me up for the abortion!" Ugh.
