What's 'sweltering' in Northern England? I have another British friend who was bitching about it being 75 (F). It was 70% humidity and about 85F here. Not as hot as SOME parts of the country but....

anytime where you can actually wear shorts! It went over 90F yesterday and had already hit "average" summer temperature at 7am this morning, I don't know what the humidity was but it was horribly sticky all evening.

90?!!? I didn't think it got that hot over there...oh I *knew* it could reach that high but I figured it was not a normal occurrence
It's been in the 90s in Seattle, Washington and that never happens.

Nah, it's not the norm, we do get these spikes for a few days but not every year and not usually as high as this - hence everyone is moaning about it.

It's a British thing you see - if it's cold then we moan; hot and we moan; wet = more moaning; too dry and we moan about our gardens; snow and the country grinds to a halt.. Brit's go on about the weather so much because it's never consistent here!

Hehe our weather is fairly constant. Summer=weeks of low 80s mid humidity. Then even more weeks of high 80s to mid 90s with mid to high humidity. Also gross winds from the canyons, very hot winds that can cause fires!
Winter=high 60s to mid 70s with winds and rain. I love our winters!
I don't know when to go to Israel. It would be best in the winter (they have the same climate we do) but then I'd go straight to the UK...I wouldn't mind to be exposed to some UK winter but I would prefer my first visit there to be...not so wet and cold (though I like wet and cold). It wouldn't be a big deal if I were only there for a week or two but I'm aiming for a month! Yes I do plan on moving to the UK one day, i just want my vacation to be...springy!

I can almost guarantee our weather will be naff the next 2 weeks - I'm off work from Friday! lol.

I prefer August/September and sometimes into October here, the heat is usually just *nice* and mostly dry with the autumn colours getting ready to appear.
