I'm a nerd, I'll just get that out of the way.

Anyway, I've increased my car search. I'm looking into the following cars:
Honda
Nissan
Volvo
Jeep
Subaru
Isuzu
Mitsubishi
Volkswagen
Ford
Toyota

Any other suggestions? Has to have good gas mileage for the city and leg room. I have more requirements of course ;p

Do you guys get Suzuki's there? Some of their smaller cars are quite nimble without being guzzlers...

Dave had the "Swift" which is one of their smallest cars, he's about the same height as me so around 5'10 - 5'11 and it had plenty of room, they only changed it when they had a kid and needed more room to get all the associated baby crap inside..

Heh, Civics are always good on gas. I'm looking into a Civic, it's the main Honda I'm looking at.
Probably won't get a new car but I'm hoping I'll get something no older then 1999

Your icon is adorable!

And I've heard great things about the Honda Civic too, and also the Accord.

Be careful about Volkswagen...I like a lot of their cars, but the thing is, there's not many places to service them. So unless you happen to have a mechanic in your area that can do it, they can be super expensive to maintain.

And I've gotta vouch for my old buddy, she was a Mazda (626) and was awesome. Good on gas, and plenty of leg room. Plus, that car was a tank. I could (and did, occasionally) push things, hit stuff, run over curbs, ect. without so much as a scratch. I'm convinced I could have been hit with an SUV and flipped and not have any personnal damage.

We're having a pretty good time with our Mazda (Protege) too - good mileage and the bf (6'3") can sit waaay back on the driver's side. ^_^

If you're looking for lots of whingydingies, leg room, and good gas milage for a decent price, the Honda hybrid lines are good. Specifically, the Civic. They get damn near 50 miles per gallon.

You know that Daimler-Chrysler is importing their Smart car to the US, right. Go look up at http://www.ocregister.com under the search Daimler-Chrysler Smart car.

It's a German car right? My mom is helping me with the purchase of whatever car I get and she refuses to buy anything German because of the Nazis (I'll buy German products). I won't be able to afford that car on my own so it can't be a German car (I could afford a Mini with mom's help but..they're German now, that's why I gave up on a Mini for the moment).

If I recall the article says that they are importing it with the price tag of 17,000 in mind, very safe and was featured on DaVinci Code.
