Because some people are too impatient ;)

Okay a better update.
Yesterday was my birthday as some of you know...by the way, thanks to all those who wished me a happy birthday! I greatly appreciated it :D
Anyway! So I went to work with mom around 12:30 after a long shower. On the way there we stopped at the bakery to pick up my cake. It was so prettyful, chocolate with purple and blue flowers and purple words and some lace trim! Then we headed to work and put the cake in the kitchen's big walk in fridge. OMG, that fridge was wonderful. It was so wonderfully coooool. I just wanted to stay there all day, alas we couldn't. Then we went into the office and stayed until four. It was so busy today! People coming in all the time, the boss in a strange mood, phone ringing off the hook, etc etc. I saw my English tutor, he's a teacher there. His last day is Wednesday actually, he's going to Vegas for a better deal. Been with mom's place for years, we'll miss him. I did my normal job, filing. I'm pretty fast at it and I feel good earning money by working.
A little after four we headed back home. I checked my email and changed out of my work clothes, blouse and skirt. I hate wearing skirts, I hate it! Anyway, then we headed to my brothers to pick him up then to grandma's to pick her up and my brother's wife. After that we headed out to Paradise Cove in Malibu, just south of Zuma Beach. It was a lovely drive. On the news they were talking about all south facing beaches getting major waves this whole week. Well the waves on the drive up there were intense, five feet minimum! So we got there and I headed to the beach right there to take photos and just smell the sea breeze. As I was gazing at the raw power of nature I was thinking to myself how appreciative I am to be able to grow up in such a wonderful place. The Los Angeles area can be shallow true, but it's my home. I grew up here, even if I live out of state L.A. will always have a place in my heart. The beach wasn't my preferred type (shells, drift wood) but it was wonderful. It was clean, the birds were being friendly, it was windy, and the waves were powerful. I took about 93 photos of the ocean and pounding surf, I'll delete some but I'll also be posting some. It nearly brought me to tears looking at nature's power. Yes, I was a little emotional but nature does that to me.
Then my cousins and aunt and uncle finally showed up. Good times! They are from Oregon, central actually; Eugene. I loved Oregon and love visiting them. I prefer Northern Oregon but Eugene is just gorgeous. I get along better with my younger cousin, Ben, who just turned 15. He's a thespian, really into performing. He was filling me in on his latest performances. He was in Full Monty, Grease, and a few others. He told me how Anthony Rapp came to his theater and talked to them. Since he's a performer (my cousin), he stayed late and actually had dinner with Anthony. It was nice to hear (zomg yodallama!). Told me some other stories. I have a lot more in common with him then my 18 year old cousin Dayna. Ben and I both enjoy theater, just hanging with friends and not partying, reading, politics, etc. He's such a mature teen, I adore him. Always have, always will :D
I had fish and chips with a pineapple\peach margarita. Originally I got a drink called a peach mojinto but I did not like it. Too much mint and I don't like mint. So I gave that to my brother and ordered the margarita; can't go wrong with one of those! Hmmm it was so damn good! The fish was also tasty. Boxed that up for the rats (they are eating it now). Had my birthday cake, from the restaurant. It was a foot long and 3 inches thick, cut it up for everybody. Yummy! From my relatives I got an iTunes gift card. Also got a card which I always love. My aunt, uncle, and female cousin just signed it but Ben actually took the time to put a little thing in it. I really appreciated that little extra sentimentality :)
After that we all headed back to grandma's for a few minutes. On the way there I took some night shots of the coast, they all came out with that cool light squiggle effect, you'll see what I'm talking about when I post the photos.
Hung out at grandma's for awhile. Ben and I giggled over Jingle Cats and I made a list of stuff from my music list that he wanted me to burn. I didn't realize his birthday was March 30th so I felt all bad. It's okay though, he'll be getting a bunch of burned cds so yay for him!
Then we headed to 7-11 to pick up milk. Today (Tuesday), my best friend and her husband will be hanging out for the day. Movies, cake, and milk! We didn't cut the cake last night so we'll be doing it together, yay for bonding over cake cutting! We were out of milk and can you imagine eating a really rich chocolate cake with no milk!? Or, if you are lactose intolerant, without whatever you usually down it with!? Horror!
Haha, okay so I'm burning cds right now and reading fan fiction. Three cheers for well written fan fiction!

For now, here's the other shots I took yesterday
I made a friend! Isn't he cute!?

I love the way camera's pick up lights like that at night!

Ahh, well you know that I know exactly what you mean about the sea/ocean. I'm completely addicted to the shore. I was just saying to a workmate who's heading to the coast this afternoon that I've not wandered around taking sea pictures for a while.

I'm so glad you had a great day and no hastles from anyone for once!

Fish and Chips... mmmm... Now I'm drooling and it's not fair because I know Ali's already got pasta planned for dinner today and I'm making pizza's tomorrow so I'll have to wait until Thursday for some!

You should see the Pacific Northwest: Oregon, Washington, British Columbia Canada. It's so gorgous and wild!
The horror, you must wait for the fishies!

I love getting away from the cities and into the wild. That's what I do love about where we live, we're close to major cities but equally close to remote beautiful area's... really make you appreciate your home town doesn't it :-)

There's a fish quay just 15mins drive along the coast from us, I'm planning on calling in there at the weekend to try some fish that we've not had before. Tend to stick very much to the same fish when I cook seafood but there's a wealth of choice from all over the world at the quay.

Hear hear. People that don't know L.A. think it's just city full of shallow skinny waify people. Not true. Yah there's the shallow prats but it's full of diversity and culture. There's many parks. I do prefer Central California which is about 3 hours..and then Northern which is 6 hours away :)

Exactly the same here.. The North-East UK is stereotyped as being full of working class/poor people living in filth, heavy smokers, gamblers and drinkers, nothing but coal mines, unemployment and greyhound racing. Blyth itself was targetted in a national TV documentary about drug abuse, they said we were "the drugs capital of the UK" when infact Blyth's drug problem was, at the time, no different to anywhere else. The knock on effect of course is that housing prices in the North were until recently a lot lower than the South, we bought before they shot up and our house has more than tripled in value in only 5yrs - I love the media at times!!

...so Dayna is an actual, legitimate name? You have no idea how sick I get of people spelling my name that way! It's either writing down Dayna when I say it, or saying "Dahna" when they read it. HELLO, PEOPLE. DANA. IT IS NOT A TERRIBLY UNUSUAL NAME.
