Preferably herbivore dna, don't really want raptors roaming the streets ;-)

I personally think raptors are more bright then we think they are, I would love to have a pet raptor and name it Lizzy. I would be it's pack and it would protect me. I would give it a raw diet like some dog owners do ;)
I wouldn't want a t-rex though...
You might, as a dino lover, know that the JP 'velociraptors' were more like deinonychus or utahraptors. The velociraptors were smaller and had a more upturned jaw and the teeth were more curved. Deinonychus was larger and had a more even head shape. But they were not as big as Utahraptor which I think were a subspecies (read that). I'm a dino nerd . But, as a dino lover I'm sure you knew that ^_~
Have you read Raptor Red by Robert T. Bakker (a paleontologist!)? It's such a wonderful book!

Dino Nerd! I'd figured they'd gone for looks rather than accuracy but I hadn't gone down the line of actually looking into it!

Did you see this one by the way? http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/sci/tech/5055128.stm

Yah, I remember reading about how Robert T. Bakker, who helped with the accuracy of the movie, telling Speilberg that his movie raptors were much larger then real life. I guess it's easier to say 'velcoraptor' then the others ;p

Looks pretty damn big! I'm thinking maybe the size of a trapdoor spider...
