Going to PetCo. Going to pick up some meal worms and feeder goldfish for my turtle. He is hungry obviously and has been chasing the fish. Of course the fish are big and won't stand for that. They chase him back :P

I might give a goldfish or meal worm to the ratties as well.
Gotta pick up cat food, litter, and kitty toys

Rats...eat...goldfish?

I am so disturbed and intrigued by the mental image this has given me.

I feed my two boys a feederfish as a treat weekly. They go bonkers for them! I just put a little bowl of water in there and they go diving for them. They look so wet and silly afterwards. ^_^

Yar. I pick a few up on Sunday afternoon, right before they close. Take them home, drop them in a little dish (note, my boys are watching me INTENSELY through their cage door at this time) and then put it on their open shelf. And they go mad trying to get to them before the other does! Then they take their prizes and go into a corner to eat in peace. ;) I always pick the ones that are about an inch and a half long and look pretty strong enough to give them a good old time before they're caught.

Shameless, I know. But my boys look forward to it every week. :)

woa that sounds like fun. i do feel a little bad for the fishies, but it sounds like it could be very enriching for the ratties. bleh i feed them pieces of chicken on occasion, i suppose it's no different..and they'll actually gain the satisfation of getting to hunt their food too.

You feed your rats live goldfish?

To each their own, but is that... erm... sanitary? Some feeder goldfish look pretty damn sickly.

Oh... check my post on the pregnant cat? I know you're in a lot of animal communities so I was hoping you might know where I could find more information. (I don't want to post on a community for fear of getting flamed).

Actually I never did it before. The goldfish were actually for my turtle. Surprisengly, they are healthy looking fish.
Ugh I can understand that totally. I posted photos of Spencer and Zoe (kittens). When somebody asked where I got them and I said "I got them from a person" they went MAD! I explained that she rescued already pregnant strays, helped raise the kittens, and SPAYED the females. They diddn't care or just didn't get it. I don't belong to that community anymore.
Here's some links I've been to when researching kitten needs;

yeah, pretty much and start munching down... once in a while they will play with them (chase the little things around, pick them up and kinda toss them)

yegh. I understand the food chain and all, but I dont think I coudl ever watch my rattie eat something alive...I just wouldnt be able to stand it (which is why I dont have any large reptiles as pets, lol). Plus what if they missed parts...and I had to clean their cage with like...a fish eye in there or something. Id die =/
