Weird Al -- with me

Election 2008 is almost over...finally

I voted and I'm proud to say that I voted for Obama\Biden!
I also voted no on Props 4,8,7. Yes on Measure 1A! Of course there were other measures I voted for\against but those were the biggies. I was very torn on Prop 2 (google if) but I made up my mind in the booth. I don't think I'll be broadcasting my decision on that one.

I went at 9:30 and got out by 10:00, it wasn't that bad.

Bush will be out of office soon, we'll be free from his stupidity very soon!

Remember to vote ladies and gentlemen! You know how I feel on voting but I won't flip out on non-voters. As an American it's our right to vote and it's also somebody's right to not vote if they choose. I might not agree with it but that's their decision, not mine.
I think I'll watch Spongebob until 4 xD

At the same time though I'll keep encouraging you to vote vote vote!!

It rained last night and I can see the clouds rolling in again....yay!

1. Stop talking about politics for a moment or two.
2. Post a reasonably-sized picture in your LJ, NOT under a cut tag, of something pleasant, such as an adorable kitten, or a fluffy white cloud, or a bottle of booze. Something that has NOTHING TO DO WITH POLITICS.
3. Include these instructions, and share the love.

She outgrew her ferret collar (which was Zoe's). She's at that stage where she's too big for that collar but too small for a normal cat collar. Joy. She's growing very fast, I wouldn't be surprised if she grew to be a large kitty!

Just...no words

I'm in tears, this is a huge milestone and a wonderful day for America.

WELCOME PRESIDENT ELECT OBAMA!!!!

Also...NO ON 8 AND FOUR!!!!. Come on California, throw those measures out!

*continues to flip out*

edit:
I think McCain was pretty gracious about it all. My respect for him went up.

words

I'm about to head to the party in Century City but I need to say some things.

I've been off and on crying since 8pm my time when we found out that he would win. I'm just so over the moon about it. But no matter how happy and proud I am to welcome President Elect Obama I can't imagine how my black sisters and brothers feel. The election wasn't about race but that doesn't take away from the fact that our next president will be the first African American. The pride they must feel must be overwhelming and I can't tell you how happy I am for this step in American history. It makes me even more proud to be an American, change is on the way and it's about time.

Now for California. The results aren't all counted for. Prop 8 was leaning yes but take into account that they were counting mail-in ballets and those are usually conservative. I'm hoping against all hope that the lead Prop 8 has falls away but we might not find out the total for two hours. It's 54-46%, I hope that California is smarter then that.
Prop 1A is also not in the lead, that's the high rail system which would create thousands of jobs and help our economy and would be a step in the green direction. Please pass! Prop 4 isn't in the lead, it's leaning towards a 'no'. Prop 4 would limit a girl's right to having an abortion, it looks like that won't pass thankfully.

Please California, make tonight's victory complete!

I don't want a dark cloud over my otherwise perfect victory

Wow, you can't find parking at that party! I parked pretty far and walked, I stayed there for a hour and a half and I'm home again. I'm utterly exhausted but still exhilarated.

I guess I won't have to be in a hurry to move to Canada! I love Canada though so I will move there one day, it's like one big blue left country!

Prop 2 was passed, thank goodness. Ya know, as soon as I walked out the polling place I wanted to change my vote on that. I went into that booth with only workers and the economy on my mind, I forgot the main thing on that prop and what it stands for. I'm an animal lover and I support animal welfare and I'm ashamed that I voted no. I wanted to go back in there and ask for my ballet but I knew I oculdn't. I'm freaking happy it passed, it lessons my guilt. I made a pretty deecent sized donation to the ASPCA to make up for my stupid mistake.

Prop 8 is still in the lead, I'm ashamed. This is the blue state of California? Remember when the Japanese Americans were put into camps? What about when Jews and blacks weren't allowed in certain neighborhoods? When blacks and whites couldn't inter-marry? Yeah, discrimination. Come on California, it's not over yet! Please, don't pass! Not only is it discrimination it's also unconstitutional! If this passes what else will they try to re-write? I hope against hope that if it does pass that it will be taken to the Supreme Court. There's a very good chance they'll overrule it because it goes against the constitution. Don't let it get to that though!

Prop 4 looks like it won't pass...YES!
Prop 7 is a no, thank goodness!

As soon as I find out the final results for 8 and 4 I will let you know.
Please California, don't let me down...
