Accidents happen all the time, and often we walk away miraculously uninjured. What has been your closest call with avoiding serious harm in an accident?
A few years ago the family was driving home from the Long Beach Aquarium in my dad's Toyota. We were on the freeway and I guess a pretty large rock or other object jumped up into the front hood when we drove over it. The front hood flipped open and broke the windshield and I was in the front passenger seat. A bit of the glass broke but it didn't completely shatter, however one or two big chunks of the windshield glass fell on my lap flat side down. I'm lucky they didn't hit me with their edge. I saw the hood flying up and the window breaking all in slow motions, crazy.
My mom pulled over and closed the hood, we were able to get home without anymore incident. I think this started my fear of freeways, I don't let it rule me though since I drive freeways myself. I'm actually a lot more uncomfortable when I'm on the freeway as a passenger, I'm not in control of the car then ya' know?
