We headed to Meteor Crater! I've always wanted to go there, I finally did! I was bouncing and I saw the raised up rim in the distance and my excitement grew! I took in the museum first, to get that out of the way. Told me stuff I already new but mom wanted to see it so I stuck by her. Oh, speaking of mom. On the drive to Meteor Crater, my mom realized that she left her purse in the hotel room so I had to take over the driving since she didn't have her ID on her. I also paid for everything, what a concept!
After the museum I walked past a window overlooking the crater and gasped. Photos really don't do it justice. I rushed outside to be one with the crater. I walked up to the top observation platform and just let my spirit wander (I'm corny).
After I got my fill of the wonder that is The Crater we headed back to Overgaard. We stopped at various points, I got two dream catcher's for my cousins, made by Native Americans and not China. It was a Navajo owned store so I was happy to give them my money. I also got a ceremonial rattle for myself and we saw a stuffed rattlesnake, mom was not happy to see that! I also picked up some petrified wood for myself, it's pretty!
We're probably going to go to Petrified Forest and Painted Desert National Park tomorrow and hopefully the Canyon before we leave too.
