long post!

I wish it were Wednesday! The season finale looks spiffy! :D

Anyway, I guess I should make this post valid!

Mom and I are going to Lake Tahoe for Thanksgiving weekend. We're going to drive that Wednesday, stay the night in Sacramento, and then do the mountain driving Thursday. We're staying in South Lake Tahoe, weee! We'll leave Sunday. We were thinking about flying but it's $250 per person so we'll just drive. It's not a long drive, we could really do it in just one day but if we give ourselves two days we can stop a lot on the last stretch for me to take pictures! I just saw an article saying that the first snow was in October and though it isn't down to the lake yet, the snow is at 7,000 feet. It'll be grand! We'll drive up to the snow and I'll be a happy snow bunny! I might even take a ski lesson, I know the very basics but there's so much more then french fry and pizza (V to slow and straight to speed up). We might also take a boat out if rentals are available this late in the year and I'll even gamble a bit. I've never gambled and don't really care about it but the last time we were in Tahoe, I wasn't old enough. I'm of age now and I'll do a tiny bit of gambling. Hey, I might win a few bucks..I won't hold my breath though xD

Then the end of December I'm going to Arizona to visit my soul sister imonsie!! I'm so excited, I've never been to Arizona before. Okay, well technically I have. In the 7th grade we took a canoe trip down the Colorado River and sometimes camped on the Arizona side. When we finished, the bus to take us back was in Arizona. Not really the same thing though eh? Ugh, that reminds me! I have a vivid memory of having to wade through icky water that smelled like shit..I'm serious, it smelled exactly like that! We had to pull the canoes with us because we couldn't paddle through that muck. Needless to say there were fights over who showered that night. I have another memory though, a much nicer one! There was a meteor shower during our trip and we all lied on our back in the canoes just watching it. Absolutely beautiful! I'd love to canoe down that river again, maybe through the Grand Canyon! Behind the cut below there's a photo from that trip, it's a bunch of dead trees sticking out of the water.
Anyway, so I'm visiting Monsie! I'm going to rent a car for two days and we're going to go to the Grand Canyon and Meteor Crater! I'm so excited, I've wanted to visit both locations my whole life. We wanted to go to the North Rim but I saw that the roads leading to that rim are closed in the winter. Bummer! Oh well right? I'm super excited to see Monsie though! I haven't seen her since February, insane! We had a little tradition to go see the Potter movies together...even though she's not really a fan ;)
We couldn't see OotP in theaters but the dvd will be out when I go there so I'm taking my dvd! Yay! It'll be fun, seeing Monsie, seeing the Grand Canyon and Meteor Crater, and taking photos of everything! I'll also meet her ferret and see her doggies again! :D
Depending on how my schedule is, I'm aiming to go the end of December and come back the beginning of January, be there for New Years!

My family might also come down here in December! It's not for a great reason though, it'll be the unveiling of my Grandmother's headstone. I talked to my aunt and they can't really find a hotel here in L.A. for December which makes sense because of the Bowl. So if they can't find a hotel they will come down here during Spring Break. If they do come here in December I'll have to work my Arizona trip around that because I want to see them! I could technically only stay for the unveiling but come on, would I turn down a chance to spend as much time with Ben as I can? I didn't think so! Ack, I miss that cousin of mine, I haven't really talked to him since July! He'll be a high school senior next year, that boggles my mind! I remember him being in diapers! He wants to go to UCLA and I'm totally rooting for him! He has the grades, he does a lot of extracurricular activities, and his college resume is full. I can see him getting into UCLA. If he does get in I can see him more often! Maybe get coffee or lunch once a month. Heh, but for real, the number one reason I want him to get in to that school is because it's his first choice. I can't figure out what to get him for Chanukah so I'm just going to get him a $15 card for iTunes, can't go wrong right? xD

Tomorrow I'm going to the cemetary to visit my Dad's grave. I don't really feel that you have to go to the grave to speak to the dead, it's just their shell. However, I haven't been there in a long time and it was his birthday today (the 11th) so I feel I should go. I'll see Grandma and Grandpa too. I also have some other errands to do after classes, joy. I'm pushing 250 miles on mah baby!

I'm also preparing for next year's New York trip! Monsie is going to try to go with me. She's not a Dan fan but still, hehe. So I'm starting to save now. Airfare, hotel, transportation, food, emergancy, spending money, and the theater. I'm planning on making this a theater experience. See Equus of course but also see The Lion King (again) and Wicked (again)...and maybe Spamalot! I'd also like to see Evil Dead, Tarzan, Les Miz, and Phantom (again) but I'm not even thinking about that! xD
Did you hear that Broadway is dark? The stage hands are on strike.

Also, I'm also saving (again) for my future U.K. trip Monsie and I would love to go together, that would be brilliant. We're aiming for 2009 but I'm also looking into 2010 to give myself breathing room..hopefully 2009 though! I know one thing I'm doing when I get there...see box_of_sorrows! Of course, if he wants to see me. I can be a bit...weird ^_~

Oh, I'm going on Birthright Israel next winter. Thank goodness that's free otherwise I'd have to save even more! I need to do it next winter because the age limit is 26 and I don't want to go in the summer!

So yea, I plan on doing massive traveling the next few years. So basically, after I buy holiday present, I'm not touching my money except for bills and when absolutely necessary!

Oh yeah, Washington D.C. might actually happen. Since it'll be mom and myself she'd pay (family thing, heh). That's not 100% though but it's likely.

Lastly, I've been working at mom's place. Helping her and others file and such and I'm getting paid so...yay! Plus I can put this on my resume (I've done this before and it's already on my resume but whatever). I made $160 so far! Woot!

The Colorado River looks identical to an area in the lake Dan's parents live on...it's so weird...
You seem so busy dang girl...I hope you can make enough money to do it all...;)
I know I feel the same way to save up for my wedding...that's only one thing too...:P Well a house too is on our list, hehehe...
That's so weird you will stay in Sacramento...I will be there on Thanksgiving day! :) That's where Dan's gma lives...the old battle axe...:P
But yea, I hope you get to do all you want to do, good luck babe...

Yah I know. I hate working at mom's place because it's soo hectic and it's an Orthodox Jewish school and I feel really weird there...but I need the money.
I hope so too. If Birthright Israel wasn't free I'd have to bump back the UK trip...again ;p
I'll be there the day before Thanksgiving, we'll be in Tahoe on the actual day.

What's wrong with it being an Orthodox Jewish school? Is it hardcore? Yea it's good you get paid and all...I wish it was more for you...:(
That's really cool it's free...I wish they had a trip like that for other people, like me, to Chile! :)
No I know, I just think it's funny...;)

Well I'm surrounded by uber religious Rabbis and boys. Also I have to wear a skirt and long sleeves and I feel alien in them, like it's not myself.

Boys are icky! ;p
Nah I didn't mean it like that. These boys are religious..and a lot are closed minded actually. They think their religion is superior and talk trash to the kitchen staff and the gay community (the school is in West Hollywood). The few nice ones (one British boy for example) are also religious...

Yeah I'd wear one for a job..heh I do since this is my job at the moment. I just hate it ;P

I hope we get snow here this winter, I remember loads of winters with really deep snow as a kid but my kids have hardly seen any snow, maybe the odd couple of days worth at best.

Spooky looking dead tree, that would look really creepy by moonlight....

Course I'd love to meet up if you get over here (or if I ever get to the US)!

I love snow, I'm sad I don't get to see it that often. Maybe this winter it'll snow here in the city like it did last year!

It would huh? With a full moon lighting it up.

Cool beans!

Beans...Ack, I gotta get your stuff! xD

So you're commenting again? Are you still swamped?

We used to get snow that lasted for weeks, busses would stop running and the school would be closed, I delivered newspapers in knee deep snow one time (and they arrived 4hrs late!). I think the last time we had snow like that was in the late 1980's :-(

I'm grabbing a bit of time this morning to comment to a few people, I'm busy testing my code but it's going pretty smoothly so far, be swamped again as soon as it's all ran through and I need to sit proof-reading the output...

Sad! :(
And they say there's no proof of global warming *rolls eyes*

It snows here in Los Angeles once in a blue moon..usually an inch that melts within the hour :P

Heh, I might be savvy in some ways with the mighty computer but that just went right over my head :P
Well..I'm glad it's going smoothly at least!
