RAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGE

WHAT THE FFFFFFFFFFFFFFF!!!!!!!!!!!

I am filled with so much rage towards these people right now. I rarely get to a point where I feel like I could actually hurt somebody, these people make me come close to crossing that line.

Elie Wiesel is amazing, his books are amazing, he is amazing.

Excuse, I'm picking myself up off the floor where I fell and think I rebroke my wrists and now broke my jaw.

Elie Wiesel is seriously a figure I admire.

And while I don't agree with about 95% of this health care business (I think it needs a lot more work and ironing out than they are doing before they pass it) I don't get how they can compare these two situations. Uh, seriously, WTF?

And why is it every time there is some serious catastrophic political event they also somehow, somewhere, someone finds a way to link it back to, and use the holocaust and then use the holocaust as a way to desensitize people? WTF2? Wasn't there something a few years ago where they were using it in some political debacle that made completely no sense? And then there was that shenanigans with some ridiculous group who kept saying (hell, I think they are still around actually) that it never happened? To me, the holocaust is a FAR worse thing than the issues they try to compare it to, I'm sorry. People died in HORRENDOUS conditions, people were raped, murdered, etc. I saw pictures of women who's legs were bound together while they were giving birth so that they were essentially tortured and died while giving birth and resulting in killing their babies as well, not to mention all of the other horrible things that happened. All of this is the same as the other shit they compare it to? Again, WTF? NO. COMPARISON. WHAT. THE. FUCK.

I'm not Jewish, and I have very few friends that are so I cannot say that I know or totally get how it feels, but for fuck's sake whenever I think about, see pictures, or even when I visited the NHM in DC I actually get physically and mentally ill over it. Night made me ill for over a week, I bawled for hours when we had to read it my senior year and you know what, I would NEVER take the experience back. In fact, I went out and bought it and made it a point to read it again a few years later. I guess it has a lot to do with my compassion for people and their suffering? I know I say a lot of asshole things to people and about people but I never honestly want to see innocent people (or animals!) hurting. Ok, this was totally scattered, blaming fibro fog and pills on this one.

But my point is. WTF how did they compare these two? I don't understand, I mean, maybe I am totally missing something here in my ignorance of the matter and forgive me if I am and feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

And props to Mr. Wiesel for standing up to them.

I admire him as well. I went to a talk that he participated in, it moved me to tears.
I know a few survivors and hearing that their suffering and their strength is being treated this way...I just get ANGRY.
Have you seen Freedom Writers? One of the Holocaust survivors in that movie, Eddie, is a dear friend of our family's. He's such a sweet man.

I can't understand how some people have the mentality that:
extra taxes=genocide of millions of people...it doesn't make sense and to even try would probably burst some blood vessels.

I'm not a religious Jew but I'm effected by it. You don't have to be Jewish, you just have to be human.

I used to go through a phase where I had to read anything I got my hands on about the Holocaust, that was just awful.

I plan on going to Poland before I die, only to see Auschwitz. I feel that everybody should go there if they have the means. I'm sure that trip will fuck me up.

When I go to DC next year I plan on going back to the Holocaust Museum...and then to a bar to get drunk -.-

Those teabaggers become more and more mental with time. I don't understand how they can think the way they do.

oh it actually already got worse...

When Wiesel came to my college to teach a class, and we all noticed bodyguards in the room, he told us about what happened to him in 2006.

A sorry excuse for a human being individual went to a talk Wiesel had, kidnapped him when he was taking the elevator and held him hostage for God knows how many hours trying to force him to admit the Holocaust was "A HOAX, A lie created by the Jewish people".

this person got caught and is so far ONLY getting 3 years in prison.

*weeps*

Re: oh it actually already got worse...

*gives you hugs*

It depressed me too.

what makes me still have faith is that Wiesel is not backing down and still fighting for human rights, still giving lectures and still being an inspiration to us DESPITE all things THESE MONSTERS are putting him through.

and the hope the president will call on these tea baggers for the horribles excuses they are

Re: oh it actually already got worse...

wait.
the reason why I posted it was not for people to loose faith!

think of it this way...
Wiesel have gone through the holocaust. the worst possible hell a person can who through. he survived and kept on what he believed in.

this person kidnapped him and tried to force him to say something it isn't true. that person sooner or later what karma will hand to him. Wiesel didn't gave up then

now these teabagger are blaspheming him and what him and millions of jews went through. everyone who is hearing it is NOT on the teabaggers side. but on Wiesel's. we are outraged.
and wiesel is not stepping down.

what I'm trying to say is, while the world is full of horrible people. there is still people like Wiesel. who despite the obstacles and challenges keep on fighting for what is right.

lets focus on that

I read this when you first posted it and I am now as I was then, speechless. How can people be so stupid or just plain evil? There is no comparison.
