Why do zombies have such terrible teeth? I can understand the zombies that have been dead for a long time but what about the living people who got bit and were turned? Their teeth automatically turn to rot, it doesn't make sense! You would think their teeth would be filed down from all the bone munching before they get so nasty looking. In my world newly turned zombies have good teeth, at least for a few weeks. After a few weeks they either fall out (from all the bone munching) or start going brown.

I actually couldn't get to sleep last night because that was going through my mind.

In the same vein, why don't vampires who are hundreds of years old have effed up teeth? Is it because of their immortality and the blood rejuvenating them so it automatically fixes? Which would mean that a vampire who hasn't fed for a while would have jacked up teeth? Depending on the canon of course because only certain canons follow the "vampires start to grow ugly and old after a while if they don't feed". However those that follow more mainstream canon, wouldn't their teeth be all stained after so long from drinking only blood?

And why wouldn't werewolves' teeths be all filed down as well after a while? Dog teeths get all filed down in old age.

Also, I hate you for making me wonder this now. ♥

Maybe it's because they brush? Zombies have no awareness other then to feed but vampires are aware, they can brush!
When you say 'canon', do you mean general vamp lore or Twilight?
It'd be like coffee, coffee stains your teeth so why not blood? I still think they have an awesome toothpaste us mere mortals don't know about.

With werewolves, it might be because they only turn once a month? So they only have about 10-12 hours a month of gnawing on whatever they find.

Haha, we're such geeks for actually seriously thinking about this. Oh well, I have no problems with that! :D

I mean there are several different canons of vampire lore. Some believe they age when they don't drink. Some believe they just whither and die. Some just believe they get weak and ill. Nothing to do with Twilight because SMeyer would justify it with "The Vampires in my novels keep up with personal hygiene and shower and brush their teeth". However, brushing doesn't keep stains away forever. Like people who drink coffee and stuff even if they brush eventually they will have stains. Then again I guess they could just use whitening strips like everyone else too.

And still, say the werewolf lives to be 80 years old like a normal person. Say they were turned when they were like 18. That would still wear their teeth down by then wouldn't it? Or maybe they have special teeth since they're not like a normal wolf/dog/etc.
