car damage

Monday I'll be taking my car to a few body shops that my insurance recommend and I'll make a decision on who will be fixing my baby.
I remember the lady moaning and bitching about how her car is brand new.
Me: "how old?"
Her: "Less then three months"
Me: "Oh, mine is new too"
Her: "It says July on your sticker"
Me: "It has less then 2,000 miles on it. It's new"
She kinda gave me a look. I'm sorry but it is new to me. Looking at my archives I realized that I picked out my car October 3 of last year and paid for it October 7th. That stupid lady hit my car exactly a week before I would have had it a year. That makes me even more annoyed.

A couple of people said that I'm getting too worked up about it, that it'll be easily fixed. Maybe so but it's the principle for me. This is my first car, my little space ship...my Millennium Falcon if I want to get right down to it! It has less then 2,000 miles on it (almost there!) so it's still a new car and hasn't even had it's birthday yet. Yah, I'm steamed about it :(

You can see the damage to the light, how the front and side bumper as well as the hood pop away from the light.

The lady says I hit her, that she was staying still in her lane. I call bullshit on her.
A. I would've seen her
B. Everybody that has seen the damage says that it looks punched in, like she hit me. Duh! -.-

Fun times before Stupid Lady happened upon me. Look at all those SUVs :\

I know it could've been a lot worse. I'm thankful that neither of us were hurt and that my car didn't get it as bad as it could've been.

Holy crap, less than 2,000 miles in a year? Mine had 6,000 on it when I got it last October ... and now it has 22,500, lol. I drive too much. D:

For real, I put like a thousand miles on my car per month maybe a little more.

Even without all those obnoxious drives (-8,000 miles), that's still 14,500 miles. XD

Yeah, that definitely is a "she hit you" dent. And I would be super upset too.

Ah, another person saying it! Well my insurance man said that the people will come to inspect it when I take it in. They'll call BS on her as well! I know I'll get partial blame because I was pulling out of a space but she should get more blame since she hit me.

yea..

I would be crispy. Mobility in a non mobile location is very life impacting. Good news is that with a little perspective changing and visualizing the car looking bright and shiny again you will be right as rain soon enough. (well that and a good fixit person) Watch for stearing from the insurance companies however.

In other car-fix-it news I just dropped $2800 casholas to replace..

Head Gasket
Water Pump
Timing Belt and related bearings to it.
All Plastic/Rubber Bits
Radiator
Clutch
and I think Muffler Bearings and Blinker Fluid.

*cough* Its like having an all new engine under the hood now. I dont recognize it.

My 6 year old subaru has 165k though and it so needed some TLC.

E.

Re: yea..

For such a big city, LA has crap public transportation!
Yeah, this really opens my eyes. On some streets the underside of the car will hit the street on the dips and that always makes me cringe. I never go down streets that will do that. It doesn't damage the car though but still, I hated it. Now I don't think I'd care as much, as long as there's no damage and it doesn't knock my car out of alignment (it didn't).
